Let’s get real.

When I denied my dreams, I started dreading my damn days. 😩
I let myself get taken hostage long before I ever wore the uniform.

No little boy dreams of becoming a prison guard.
But that’s what I settled for. 💔

What I really wanted was to teach martial arts full time 🥋
I wanted to be a cop 🚓
To live from passion, purpose, and presence.

And yeah, I did both — part-time.
But somehow I found myself working "full-time" in three jurisdictions. 🤯
That’s what happens when you don’t live from state.

Then I did what everyone said was the “smart move” 👔
I got a “real job” with “real benefits” at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill 🏢
Four months in? I got jumped. Taken hostage in one of worst prison riots in US history.

Face smashed. Cheekbone shattered 🩻
Fingers mangled. Elbows demolished with nerve damage ⚡
But I protected my head 🧠
Because deep down, I knew...
I wasn’t meant to be there.

That was life tapping me on the shoulder... then slapping me across the face. 👋😳

And here’s the kicker, and why I'm writing this today!

My birthday is April Fool’s Day 🎂🤡
Born and named after John the Baptist, the guy Neville said “does violence to his desires.”
Yeah, I was damn good at that. Too good.

But deep down, I always wanted to be John the Beloved ❤️
The one who embraces his desires. Who lives from love. From the wish fulfilled.

Today I sit in the Potter’s House 🏡
A mud home built by dreamers who used to squat on government land.
Now it’s paradise. Because they imagined... and persisted. ✨

This life is a dance 💃🕺
Divine and human, side by side
Most folks?

They’re too busy fantasizing or thinking to feel it REAL.
Too busy protecting a life they never even asked for

Neville taught:
Imaginal acts are investments 💰
But most people? They’re spending
Time, energy, money, imagination. Life wasted like loose change in the couch cushions 🛋️

Tomorrow I turn 59 🎉
But I’m already living as the new me today
Why wait?
